The Minister of Health stresses the importance of the pharmacist's role in achieving national drug security

The Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel confirmed that the pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical industry is one of the important transformational industrial sectors that Yemen needs to expand, especially in light of the continuing aggression and siege.

In an event on the International Day of Pharmacists, organized by the Association of Community Pharmacies Owners in cooperation with Al-Razi University, Minister Al-Mutawakil considered the national pharmaceutical industry a basic pillar for the formation of the strategic economic dimension of Yemen due to its direct link with securing the citizen's health and the health sector.

He pointed out the importance of celebrating this occasion because of the role of pharmacists in achieving national drug security, in conjunction with the Yemeni people's celebrations of the revolution holidays of September, October and November, and the passage of two thousand days of steadfastness in the face of aggression.

"The first thing that targeted the aggression is the health and medicinal sector, through the blockade and the closure of Sanaa International Airport, and preventing the entry of medicines, especially those related to chronic diseases," he said.

He referred to the role that universities play in keeping pace with developments in this field and producing pharmacists capable of producing and the pharmaceutical industry .. stressing the keenness of the Ministry of Public Health and Population to find safe, quality and affordable medicine.

The Minister of Health stated that work in clinical pharmacy will be generalized within the medical work in various hospitals ... reviewing the measures taken by the Ministry to improve the drug market through standards and guides for pharmaceutical establishments.

In the event attended by the Minister of Parliament and Shura Affairs, Ali Abu Halika and the State, Dr. Hamid Al-Mazjaji, and the Chairman of the Academic Accreditation Council, Dr. AliAl-Kaf, which included a group of pharmacists and academics. And November.

He reviewed the ministry’s efforts to organize the work of the medical unions and unions to provide the appropriate service to the patient, stressing the necessity for everyone’s efforts to improve the drug situation in Yemen in coordination with the concerned authorities, alleviate the suffering of citizens, and find medicines a treasonable prices.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ali Sharaf Al-Din, pointed out the importance of moving towards local pharmaceutical manufacturing, especially insight of aggression and blockade.

He stressed the importance of celebrating the International Pharmacists Day in order to encourage pharmacists to prepare research related to developing pharmaceutical care and take advantage of the availability of raw materials from rare herbs and flowers in the local pharmaceutical industry.

 

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Razi University, Dr. Tariq Al-Nahmi, referred to the importance of the role of pharmacists in health care and the use of safe medicine, pointing to the importance of the role of trade unions in educating society about medicines and the importance of activating the clinical pharmacy.

He affirmed the university’s readiness to work on training and qualifying pharmaceutical cadres in coordination with the relevant authorities and the Community Pharmacies Owners Association.

While the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Community Pharmacies Owners, Dr. Muhammad Al-Nazili, reviewed the vision of the International Federation of Pharmacists... referring to the situation of pharmacists in Yemen, the difficulties facing the drug market and the importance of the role of the pharmacist in promoting the profession and pursuing scientific qualification.

While the Executive Director of the Syndicate, Dr. Nabil Abu Fara'a, reviewed the objectives and vision of the union in creating a correct pharmaceutical service through an efficient and qualified pharmacist cadre to provide the service according to international standards.

Ibrahim Al Hamli gave two speeches about the Union of Medicines Importers and Dr. Alia Al-Sharjabi on the women's sector of the Union. They touched on the importance of celebrating the International Pharmacists Day.

The event was attended by the Secretary General of the Community Pharmacies Owners Syndicate, Dr. Mutahir Al-Fil.
