The Minister of Health appreciates the medical aid provided by Oman and Iran

(28 / July / 2020)

The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakil, appreciated the medical aid provided by the Sultanate of Oman, the Islamic Republic of Iran and other countries in light of the suffering of the Yemeni people as a result of the aggression and blockade.

In his statement, the Minister of Health stated that the shipment of aid, which contains modern health equipment, advanced ventilators, preventive devices, and medicines, arrived at the Ministry of Health's warehouses after about three months of disrupting their transport from the Sultanate of Oman to Yemen.

He pointed out that the United Nations has abdicated its duty to transport the shipment of medical aid and remained stuck in the Sultanate of Oman for a period of more than 3 months, and also abdicated its duty to provide medical aid to Yemen in the face of the Corona pandemic.

The Minister of Health called on the Arab and Islamic world and the free world countries to break the blockade and initiate humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people, who today lack the necessary fuel to operate hospitals and health centers because the aggression coalition has prevented the entry of oil derivative ships.

In the same context, Dr. Al-Mutawakil appreciated the efforts of the national delegation and the prominent role it played in researching, providing humanitarian aid and means of delivering it to Sana'a in cooperation with various international bodies, especially the Sultanate of Oman, and especially in light of manipulation and procrastination by the UN organization in providing the necessary needs for the health sector that has left 93% of its equipment  expired as a result of 6 years of aggression and blockade.
