President Al-Mashat lays foundation stone for 46 health projects in several provinces

His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, laid the foundation stone and inaugurated work on 46 health projects in the capital, Sana'a, and various provinces, worth 37 million and 423 thousand dollars.

The laying of the foundation stone and the inauguration of work on health sector projects comes on the occasion of the celebration of the ninth anniversary of the September 21 Revolution and the anniversary of the honorable birth of the Prophet may the best prayers ,peace be upon its owner and his family.

President Al-Mashat, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs - Minister of Finance, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, and his deputy, Dr. Mutahar Al-Marouni, listened to an explanation of the projects that included building, rehabilitating, equipping, restoring, establishing an oxygen station, and expanding hospitals, health facilities, ,maternity and childhood centers.

It also included health centres, laboratories, intervention in a number of hospitals and medical institutions, construction of pharmacies, restoration and expansion works in the capital secretariat and Sa'ada, Dhamar, Hajjah, Al-Hodeida, Al-Bayda, Ibb, Amran, Al-Mahwit, and Marib provinces.

The President stressed that these projects, the work on which is being launched in conjunction with the Yemeni people’s celebrations of the ninth anniversary of the glorious September 21 revolution and the anniversary of the Prophet’s birth, come within the framework of the interest of the state and the government in harnessing the available capabilities to improve the infrastructure of the health sector and provide health services to citizens with quality and efficiency.

He was briefed on the progress of work in the new building of Kuwait University Hospital and the modern equipment in it, and heard from the Minister of Health the importance of the building, which represents a basic pillar in the health sector as it is one of the most important health projects being implemented during the current and exceptional stage that the country is going through, especially after its faltering for several years.

The laying of the foundation stone was attended by the head of the General Authority for Zakat, Shamsan Abu Nashtan, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Kamal Khaled, and a number of officials from the Ministry of Health and Kuwait University Hospital.
